20 September 2011
The 55MW Mumbida Wind Farm is underway.

The 22 turbine wind farm, located about 40km southeast of Geraldton on farming land, is under development by a joint venture of Verve Energy and Macquarie Capital Group.

The site is well suited for wind energy generation, situated on a high plateau with gently undulating terrain, a maximum elevation of 250m and unobstructed exposure to south-easterly winds.

Work has started on constructing roads on the site.

The towers are scheduled to start arriving in March 2012, most likely through Geraldton Port, erection of the turbines will commence in May and commissioning in July. Mumbida Wind Farm is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2012.
