Stakeholder Update 4 - Mumbida Wind Farm
The Mumbida Wind Farm, in the Mid-West, is being built by a consortium of Leightons Contractors and GE Wind Energy.
Leightons moved onto site and started construction in September 2011.
When completed the wind farm will consist of 22 wind turbines (with 85m towers and 100m diameter rotors) and have the capacity to produce 55MW of electricity. The turbines are 2.5MW General Electric 2.5xl wind turbines and it will be the first time that this particular turbine will be installed in Australia.
